Catholic Hospice provides care at no charge to our patients and their families. As a Medicare-certified hospice program, a patient’s insurance is billed for services provided. However, many people do not have adequate insurance coverage, and some have no coverage at all. These people are not turned away from our care. If an appropriate referral is made to our program, we will provide care based on need.
Third-party reimbursement is only a portion of what is needed to operate a hospice program. As a non-profit program we are able to provide our special program of care in part due to the generosity of community friends, businesses, churches, civic groups and foundations.
Catholic Hospice benefits from planned gifts such as securities properties, insurance and gifts of trusts or bequests. All contributions go directly to patient care.
Memorial contributions may be made by submitting the donor’s contact information – names, full mailing address and telephone number, the name of the loved one being memorialized, the names of all giving the gift, and the name and mailing information of the person to be notified of the gift.
Memorials can be made with a debit or credit card via Paypal at www.catholichospicepgh.org. When making an online donation through paypal please complete the three step process:
Click on the Donate button: The cursor is set for you to type in the dollar amount of the donation. If you would like to make this a monthly donation, check the box below the dollar amount. Click on Donate with Paypal or Donate with a Debit or Credit Card. If you choose to pay will Paypal you will be redirected to your Paypal login screen.
Second screen: If via paypal complete the Add Special Instructions to the Seller which will allow you to send any special information to our office such as who the donation is from, who it is in memory of, who you would like to be notified, etc. Please also be sure to check the box allowing Paypal to share your mailing address with Catholic Hospice so that we may provide you with an acknowledgment letter for tax purposes.
If paying with a card, on the second screen Add Special Instructions to the Seller is below the dollar amount and option to make a monthly donation. Once again information shared in this box would include any special information to our office such as who the donation is from, who it is in memory of, who you would like to be notified, etc.
Complete your personal information including credit card information, billing information for your card and contact information for the donor – then click on donate now to complete your gift.
We are notified by email of every gift. Be assured that if information is missing – such as the memorial designee, we will follow up via email or telephone.
